Product Attributes

The Product Attributes Page gives the store owner the flexibility to add options to any product. Options like color, size, type, or others can make product selections easier for the customer and helps avoid multiple product entries in the catalog that are similar.

There are 2 elements that must be created before one can add an attribute to a product:

Product Options - These are the options that will be available to all products.

Option Values - These are the values the any option can have.

Start by inserting the name of an option (under the Product Options table) if it doesn't already exist. Under the Option Values table, select an option name and insert an option value. Insert as many values as appropriate for the option. For example, the option of "size" can have several values such as "small, medium, large, extra-large", etc...

The Product Attributes table lists the products that have attributes or options (which ever term you prefer to use).

Product Name - The name of the product.

Option Name - The name of the option or attribute.

Option Value - The option value that is associated with the product.

Value Price - The price difference. If there is no price difference for this option, then the value price should be zero.

Prefix - This determines whether the value price will be added or subtracted from the product's base price. This has no effect if the value price is zero.

To add an attribute to a product do the following:

1. Select a product,
2. Select an option (name/value pair),
3. Type a value price,
4. Select the price prefix,
5. Then click the insert button.

Option names, values, and product attributes can be edited or deleted at any time.
